A snowy winter engagement session in Wisconsin Dells

I don’t shoot a ton in the winter, but with engagement sessions like this one, it makes me really step back and realize that we are LUCKY to live in a place that you can appreciate the landscapes of all of the seasons and the beauty that they hold. It makes couples snuggle a little tighter and the laughs a little louder when you are battling the colder temps. Lindsay and Matt had their hearts set on a snowy shoot and we had the most perfect day with the right amount of snow on the ground, a beautiful golden sunset and the thermometer reaching 40! And a little wind which I think totally added to the photos. Lindsay sent me a few snap shots of her outfits and I wanted to find the perfect contrast to them and these red skirt ones…..I am so in LOVE. These two are stunning and have the hearts to match. It was awesome to watch the comments come in on the few images I posted on social media that they looks like models in a magazine ad, because I couldn’t agree more.
But this is a real love and it was a joy to capture these two in front of my lens and I’m so freaking excited for their wedding this autumn at the Fields Reserve in Stoughton. Lindsay & Matt have been dating for 3 years and have known of each other since grade school, (their dad’s and their uncles are best friends..how cute is that!!) After doing the long distance thing for two years and never missing a weekend apart, Matt popped the big question up at his family’s cabin in Minocqua this past fall. That “up north” feel was the inspiration for the shoot as these two love the outdoors and icefishing, and I love that they gave me free reign to pick the locations to match what they were looking for. Here are some of my faves of Lindsay & Matt’s beautiful winter engagement photos.

All time favorite right here!

The contrast of the blue sky, golden field and the red skirt = photography heaven!

Major chemistry between these two love birds!

Off to the Wisconsin River for this set!

And the beautiful Rocky Arbor State Park, just outside of Wisconsin Dells.
