2013 – A Look Back

2013 has been a pretty amazing year for me. It’s crazy how fast time flies by, I can remember posting my recap from the previous year, and it doesn’t seem like that long ago. My main goal for this year was balance, to grow as an artist and to have fun. I worked with some amazing couples, families and seniors this year and I feel incredibly fortunate.

As I look forward to the year ahead, I plan on refining a few things. As much as I love all genres of photography, I will be mainly focusing on weddings, engagement sessions, families and seniors. It has been a tough decision for me to transition out of photographing newborns, but I want to give my clients the best of the best and I feel that newborn photography is my biggest struggle. So as for 2014, I will be passing along any newborn inquiries to other local photographers. Pheww…..why is it so hard for me to actually come out and say this?!? I hate saying no, but I have come to the point where I have to, for my own sanity and to take on less clients to better serve the ones that I have.

I’m excited for 2014 and to continue learning, improving, becoming more organized and to enhance my skills as a photographer. I plan to take the next few months and develop a new blog site, and really hone in on my brand. To travel and find new inspiration, and there are also several workshops in mind and possibly a trip to WPPI this spring.

Here is a recap video of some of my favorite images from 2013. I photographed over 130 sessions (omg, it is crazy when you add them all up) and it was really hard to choose, but I thought a video was a better idea than an insanely long blog post. Thank you all for your continued support and here’s to a great new year.
